# About the ministry

Why WEBVAM Ministry exists, who the websites are for and how a church gets one. Told by Igor Gricyk, pastor of the Baptist church (BJB) in Kladno.

## What WEBVAM means

The name speaks for itself: web for you.

## Why this ministry

It is a ministry for the glory of God in fulfilling the Great Commission by creating accessible tools for churches and believers. The key passage of Scripture for me:

> Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
>
> Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)

## Why now

People increasingly turn to AI agents when they look for a congregation and for answers to spiritual questions. Even search engines now have AI agents built in. The world is changing: much as people once rode horses, then moved to trucks, and then to cars and planes. In the same way, as AI develops, people will rely more and more on AI agents to find information, and those agents will take it from published and accessible websites.

## Vision

As long as there is freedom to preach the gospel in Europe, this ministry is very much needed. It will keep growing until persecution of Christians begins in Europe and all the websites have to be shut down.

## Who I make websites for

I make websites only for churched people of evangelical faith: for their churches, missions and ministries, and for their own work.

## How a church gets a website

The way starts with the first email or call. Next we agree on the domain address and hosting (the place where the website itself is stored): I usually recommend taking the address and hosting in the country where the church is. The name of the church and its logo are also needed: the church sends its own, or I draw one. Then any information about the church that you want to see on the website. For inspiration, you can look at the website of my church — [sborkladno.cz](https://sborkladno.cz).

A website can be multilingual: for an immigrant church in Europe it is important to introduce itself in the national language of the country where it is, too.

## About payment

I am self-employed, and I do this work not for a donation: I accept payment — the amount that the church or the person considers appropriate for my work. I pay taxes on the payment and issue an invoice (faktura) on request.

Payment is voluntary because everyone has different resources. I understand how ministry works: it is not always possible to invest. For my part, I see this work as a ministry and am ready to serve for the amount you can afford. [How to pay for the work](/en/payment/)

## Briefly about me

I was born in 1980 in Odesa. At 19 I emigrated with my parents to Czechia, to the town of Kladno. At that time God made me a joyful offer that I did not want to refuse. He promised me a bright future if I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to live in my heart and to be my Lord and Saviour from the sins I had lived in until then. I accepted this call of His at the House of the Gospel in Kyiv. Since then my life began to change radically and to gain meaning.

- **1999.** I consciously received water baptism in a Baptist church in Prague and began serving God among Czech and Russian-speaking young people.
- **2002.** I got married, and my wife and I straight away enrolled together in a one-year course at the International Baptist Theological Seminary (IBTS) in Prague. We have three children.
- **From 2003.** I took part in founding the church Sbor BJB v Praze – Vinný Kmen in Prague.
- **2004–2007.** I worked as a graphic designer, typesetter and webmaster at the publisher of GÓL, a sports weekly for football and hockey fans.
- **2005.** I was elected and appointed to serve as an elder of Sbor BJB v Praze – Vinný Kmen. Until 2007 I worked with young people in Prague.
- **2008–2011.** I worked as executive director of Granilit Grafito group in Kladno.
- **From 2009.** I served as the founding pastor of the Baptist church congregation in Kladno.
- **2012–2025.** A student of the international theological institute TCMi; I graduated with a certificate and a Master of Arts degree.
- **From 2012.** I still actively work in the ministry of Russian-speaking churches in Europe (NRC-EBF) as a member of the coordinating committee and administrator of the movement's websites.
- **2013–2016.** I made more than ten mission trips to Switzerland.
- **2016.** I was elected and installed in the ministry of pastor of the BJB church in Kladno, which at the same time became an independent registered church in the BJB. I carry out this ministry to this day.
- **2018–2024.** I studied the ancient biblical languages — Hebrew and Greek — at the Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University.
- **From 2021.** I became self-employed. For several years I earned my living as a taxi driver and a food delivery courier, and since 2025 I have done administrative work for two children's groups at a church in Prague.
- **2026.** I completed courses accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and received a certificate as an AI specialist. Thanks to these skills, my knowledge of administrative work and of building websites visible in search engines and AI agents reached a new level. It was then that I received from God the calling to devote my time fully to serving churches, missions and church members.
